Platja de Canyamel is on the north east coast of Mallorca, close to Cala Rajada and around 1km south of the coves of Artá. Canymel is a fairly new small resort with a small pretty beach and just afew hotels and restaurants.
There are pretty white villas perched on its pine clad rocky headlands. This is a very small quiet resort, perfect for a day trip to the beach, but if you want to stay here then book well in advance as it gets booked up during the summer months. Beware though if you attract the mosquitoes, don´t forget the insect repellant, as its waterways attact the insects as well as the birds.
Canyamel Nature Reserve You can stroll along its wooden walkway and watch several species of water birds including an unusual species of water bird, the Anatida. A species of bird that have adapted to living on water.
